"Manchester United were fantastic to deal with," he told talkSPORT. "I had breakfast with David Gill and were sorted it all out then.
"They were really very, very good to deal with. Sir Alex Ferguson spoke to the player and impressed onto him how important that he continue to help his team-mates get promoted this year, and that he would be watching him to make sure he was putting in the right amount of effort.
"Sir Alex said to him that, for some lads in the team, it might be their last chance to play in the Premier League and how he should do them proud. The dealings we had with Manchester United were fantastic."
And Parish went on to claim that the starlet is getting back to his best, having made up his mind over the Old Trafford move.
"It's settled him down now he's got his move," he added. "When a club like Manchester United come in for a lad, it's very difficult to deny them that chance.
"The speculation was so rife, he had scouts watching him every game and he was then trying too hard. Hopefully the move will settle him down a bit. He put in fantastic performance in our last game [against Charlton]."
