Crystal Palace skipper Mile Jedinak is grateful to manager Tony Pulis for granting him extra time off after the World Cup.
Jedinak captained Australia in Brazil and has only just returned to Palace for preseason this week.
"I was lucky enough to get an extra week off which was great and I am very thankful and grateful to all the management here that they allowed me to do that," he said.
"It gave me a little bit more time to spend with my family. It is just about switching off and giving yourself a break, not just physically, but mentally as well. Over the last two years, it is been my longest break. There was a lot of mental fatigue going on there, but now I am back and ready to go."
