Crystal Palace skipper Mile Jedinak could delay his departure for Australia's Asian Cup campaign.

The London Evening Standard says Palace could be allowed to delay Jedinak's departure to the Asian Cup so he can play against Aston Villa on New Year's Day.

"Communication between the club and the national team has been fantastic," said Jedinak. "I do not think that will be any different for this. At this stage, I'm not 100 per cent sure on my situation.

"I'd like to play the Villa game but let's wait and see. A decision will be made at some stage. Whatever that decision is, I will accept it."
