Palace boss Warnock ready to take personal battle to West Ham

Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock revealed last night that he is ready to launch a personal compensation claim against West Ham after it was confirmed they had reached a deal with Sheffield United over the Carlos Tevez affair.

Hours after the two clubs issued a joint statement saying they had agreed a settlement which will see West Ham pay £25million to United in recompense for their controversial relegation two years ago, former Blades manager Warnock said he was considering legal action.

Warnock is adamant that Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore should have lost his job over the circumstances in which West Ham remained in the top flight.

He said: "I think Scudamore is an absolute disgrace. I'd love to get him in a room on my own for an hour, no holds barred."
