Palace boss Warnock has plans for transfer cash boost if takeover successful

Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock is keen on a transfer cash boost if the club is bought out.

Billionaire Josh Harris is in advanced talks with the club's current owners about a deal that could see the Philadelphia 76ers owner become the sixth US-based owner in the Premier League.

And Warnock is getting ready for any major changes by drawing up two lists of transfer targets - one based on existing funds and another with sights set much higher.

Palace face Sunderland at home tonight and the manager said: "You have to have two plans. You always have to look ahead as a manager and a club. We have to do that.

"What you have not to do is get caught short again. We wanted one or two others in the last window but just missed out.

"We were always looking at the targets we were looking for. If there is more money available you step up a grade in your targets.

"You always have to look ahead at what might happen. You wouldn't be doing your job if that wasn't the case."
