Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew believes Mike Ashley remains committed to Newcastle United.

Pardew is convinced Ashley isn't about to follow him through the door, despite rumours he wants to sell the club and take over Glasgow Rangers, where he is now a major shareholder.

"I don't think there is any sense that will happen," said Pardew.

"I haven't had any conversation with him about that but I can't see that happening."
