Palace boss Pardew: Coppell will have enjoyed our performance

Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew compared his team with the great sides of Steve Coppell after victory over QPR.

Pardew was delighted with wide men Yannick Bolasie and Wilfried Zaha.

"I wouldn't say they're the best wingers in the country but they're exciting, there's two flaws really in their game," said Pardew.

"One is scoring goals and one is being disciplined in their defensive duties and that's two areas they've worked hard on.

"But, their individual talent, the way they go past players, and how they lift the ball over their heads, that's purely from within from what they've learnt in their culture how they've been brought up.

"I thought they were so exciting first half and a kind of throwback to some great days of Peter Taylor, Eddie McGoldrick... I did say Phil Barber earlier which was probably a mistake, sorry Phil, but he knows what I mean.

"Steve Coppell would have been pleased and I hope he was watching because it was like a Steve Coppell team today."
