Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew has called on Mike Ashley to back Newcastle United in the summer market.

Pardew quit Newcastle earlier this year to return to Palace.

Pardew, speaking on Goals on Sunday, said: "I sincerely hope in the summer they have a good window because the last two, maybe three, windows haven't been good enough.

"They have to buy well and get that place rocking like it was yesterday in the second half."
