Crystal Palace boss Dougie Freedman played down Wilfried Zaha's flat performance in their 0-0 draw with Portsmouth.

Zaha is being followed by Liverpool and Stoke City ahead of the January market.

Freedman said: "Whenever Wilfried plays there are high expectations and a seven out of 10 game can be disappointing.

"He wasn't tired but he came up against good, experienced defenders and he is still learning. We have to be patient with him."
