Palace boss braces himself for offers as transfer deadline looms

Crystal Palace boss Dougie Freedman is expecting enquiries for some of his young stars ahead of Wednesday's transfer deadline. Rookie winger Wilfried Zaha is a prime target for rivals.

Palace have won their last four matches so the interest comes as no surprise to Freedman.

"I would expect one or two calls for my players because we are doing all right and when you're doing okay you get these phone calls," he said.

"I have had managers call me up and ask me about my young players but they've just been a general chat. No bids have come in but I would be shocked if something didn't happen.

"But I would gladly walk away on Wednesday at 11pm with hopefully nothing happening with outgoings."
