Packed out Edinburgh hotels threaten to derail Tottenham plans

Tottenham's plans for tomorrow night's Europa League qualifier have been thrown in to disarray because they can't find a hotel. The North Londoners were hoping to fly up to Edinburgh today ahead of Thursday's meeting with Heart of Midlothian at Tynecastle but have been unable to find any room in the Scottish capital.

Spurs assistant Joe Jordan, a former Hearts head coach, said the situation was certainly not ideal but insisted that the players would be ready.

"Yes, it has been a big problem. I couldn't believe it," he said.

"We would've preferred to stay in Edinburgh but we're a long way away from it. We're up at St Andrews.

"We would have liked to have been closer on the day of the game so our journey there would have been a lot shorter.

"It's been a problem for our preparation, but we'll get around it."
