Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain admits that he likes to play further up the pitch.
The 23-year-old, who scored for England in a 2-2 draw last week, has been deployed in the wing-back role by manager Arsene Wenger since the tactical switch to 3-4-3 formation towards the end of the last season.
"I'm definitely more attack-minded than defensive," he said. "I have to focus in the wing-back role because I'm more open to going forward.
"It's different: it could be a bit more critical when you're further back as opposed to on the wing, when you have loads of people to cover for you. You have to be really switched on.
"And on Saturday, I felt it was up to me to come on and inject something different, a bit of pace, and push us forward. I'm happy to do that.
"I won't shy away from helping us try and win the game."
