Oxford United insist there's been no approach from Newcastle United for striker Kemar Roofe.

Newcastle have not made contact with Oxford about Roofe, according to the club's chief executive Mark Ashton.

"Nobody has called directly on Kemar Roofe or about any of our players," he said.

"There's lots of chatter in the background from agents, but that's what the industry is like."
