Owusu returns to Adelaide after China trial

Adelaide United striker Lloyd Owusu has returned the club after a trial with Chinese clubs Guangzhou and Shaanxi Chanba.

The Ghanaian was not prepared to agree on a deal in China and returns to Adelaide without a Chinese contract according to Reds football director Michael Petrillo.

“It didn’t work out for Lloyd,” Petrillo told Adelaide Now.

“He didn’t feel comfortable there, so he’s coming back for the Champions League at this point in time.

“But, obviously, Aurelio Vidmar can make changes (to the Champions League squad) up until February 17.”
