Sheffield Wednesday youngster Liam Palmer is delighted seeing Peterborough United striker Craig Mackail-Smith win his Scotland call.
Palmer is Yorkshire born and bred but like Mackail-Smith he qualifies for Scotland through a gran and impressed for the Under-21s on Thursday night.
After being told of uncapped Mackail-Smith's call-up to Craig Levein's squad for tomorrow's friendly with Brazil, he said: "We actually played Peterborough last Tuesday and he was really good.
"He can make something out of nothing and is a good outlet. A few of our defenders said he's one of the best in the division.
"He's a proven finisher in the Championship and now League One and shown he can score an abundance of goals.
"From what I saw he's got acceleration over those first five yards to get away from people.
"His goal record must be up there with the best in the country and because of that I voted him in the end-of-season awards. He's a natural-born scorer so hopefully he can step up and do it on the international stage too."
