Owen tells Newcastle fans: I'll be back for Hull clash

Michael Owen has identified next week's clash with Hull City as his comeback game for Newcastle United.

The 29-year-old is now back in training after suffering ligament damage in his left ankle during the 2-1 defeat at Manchester City in January.

And, while tonight's game against champions elect Manchester United will come too soon, Owen told the Official Matchday Programme that he cannot wait for his return to action at the KC Stadium on March 10.

"This match (Man Utd) looks like it has come just too early, but had there been a match this weekend I'd have been fit and ready for fit it," said Michael in his regular captain's column.

"As it is, the trip to Hull in ten days' time looks nailed on for my return to action and I can hardly wait to get back from this ankle injury and help the lads in the fight to pull away to safety - a fight we are confident we will win."
