Michael Owen is a big fan of fellow Newcastle striker Andy Carroll - apart from his barnet!

"I don't rate it! I said to him 'I refuse to play with you up front'," laughed Owen.

"But seriously, if you are going to use the term rough diamond, it probably suits him.

"He is fantastic at certain aspects and needs to brush up on others. He knows that and the coaches know that, everyone will try to help him improve his game.

"We have to play to his strengths. He will be tough for anyone to mark."
