Owen: Man Utd need firing Pogba and Lukaku

Michael Owen believes that Manchester United's only chance of winning the FA Cup semi final against Tottenham is through the form of Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku.

The former United and Liverpool striker spoke about the upcoming clash. Both teams are desperate to reach the final.

It would represent a trophy for Jose Mourinho in his second season, while Mauricio Pochettino's men know they need to win something to be seen as a top team.

"Manchester United have won their last three FA Cup ties against Tottenham, but I just feel Spurs will end their semi-final hoodoo," Owen told BetVictor.

"They have lost their last seven FA Cup semis – at Wembley on Saturday.

"Both sides were in Premier League action on the south coast midweek with United meeting Bournemouth on Wednesday whilst Spurs were held 1-1 at Brighton twenty-four hours earlier.

"Spurs were not at their best against Champions Manchester City on Saturday or against the Seagulls, but Mauricio Pochettino rested a number of key players at the Amex and I expect to see a rejuvenated Spurs come out firing in their "home" semi.

"United did not show up at a subdued Old Trafford against West Brom on Sunday which was a surprise given their remarkable Derby comeback at the Etihad the previous weekend.

"Romelu Lukaku has scored in every round of the Cup so far this season and Alexis Sanchez has scored five times in his four FA Cup games at Wembley – United need big games from the pair on Saturday evening."
