Newcastle United goalkeeper Shay Given believes striker Michael Owen is close to being back to his best and is the key to the club climbing back up the league table.
When asked if Owen was back to top form after a double in the 2-2 draw against Stoke City, Given told Sky Sports News, "We hope so.
"We know if we create chances for Michael he will stick them away and he has been doing that for all of his career."
Given also made mention of the upcoming transfer window and how he hopes his club will be busy during that time.
"Joe being the manager gives us a little bit of stability," Given added.
"January will give the opportunity to freshen things ups, even if it is just with loan players."
