Owen bookies favourite for Man Utd move

Bookmakers have slashed the odds of Michael Owen joining Manchester United.

Sky Bet have switch from 20-1 to 7-4, after United missed out on the signing of Karim Benzema from Olympique Lyonnais.

"With Real Madrid hoovering up several high profile targets, United are running out of options to fill the void left by the departure of Ronaldo and Tevez and Owen is a cheap option," Sky Bet's Mike Triffitt told bettingzone.co.uk.

"We've had a steady stream of bets on free agent Owen joining United today. A move to United should suit Owen, who wants to get back into the England squad and will feel he has a better chance with a higher profile club."

as a man united fan i dont mind getting owen into the squad after all he is a good striker but the problem is he always get injured ! always ! i really think we should get ashley Young on the left and aguero ! and a nice right back + yaya toure ! and thats how we will win the premier league and champions league

Even he would not join this sinking stinking club. Game over for Fergie if he really is that desparate to sign Owen. U might as well sign back Saha....hahahahahaha f u c k e d club!

Actually, i think Owen will be a good interim signing; firstly, it beefs up our numbers in attack, and when used as cover for Rooney and Berbatov, can provide experience and cover. Mecheda and Wellbeck can make up the attacking group....I am sure if SAF does sign him up, he would have told owen that he would get games BUT that he will not be first choice...bets thing is that he is free! and i am sure he will accept less wages to play in Man Utd
