Out-of-touch? Liverpool MP slams Benitez dismissal

Rafa Benitez has received support in Liverpool after leaving the club for Inter Milan.

The Telegraph says Steve Rotherham, the Labour MP for Liverpool Walton, has tabled an early-day motion in the House of Commons expressing his disappointment in the club owners, Tom Hicks and George Gillett, and their decision to dismiss Benítez.

The Royal Bank of Scotland, which holds Liverpool's £237 million debt, is 60 per cent Government owned.
