Tom Anselmi, chief operating officer of Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment, suggest that the Toronto FC fans deserve much better.

The Canadian outfit are currently wallowing at the bottom of the Eastern Conference table with zero points from six matches and are just one loss away from equaling a MLS record for the worst start to a season in history.

This poor beginning has come on the back of the club reaching the semi-finals of the CONCACAF Champions League and Anselmi insists there needs to be a rapid improvement.

"Obviously, after the strong end to last season and the strong start in Champions League this year, it's a huge disappointment," Anselmi said in an email to The Canadian Press.

"They have to get this straightened out. Our fans deserve better."
