Osman happy with start of Everton preseason

Leon Osman enjoyed Everton's training camp in Austria.

The Blues spent five days undergoing intense fitness work in the Alps but have now returned to England in preparation for Saturday's first pre-season outing at Morecambe.

"The running is important but to play the games and have matches, competitive ones, is what we all want and what we're all striving to get to," Osman told evertonfc.com, before lifting the lid on just how rigorous the week's workout had been.

"It's been tough but that's the whole point of it. We come out here and give it a really good go. It's at altitude, so that makes it even harder, but it's been enjoyable and I think we're getting the benefits."
