Australia manager Holger Osieck said that Wednesday's 3-12 friendly loss to Scotland was simply a performance he will not accept.
The Socceroos gave up a one-goal lead after Mark Bresciano's brilliant opener at Edinburgh's Easter Road with Jordan Rhodes, a Jason Davidson own-goal and Ross McCormack providing the goals for Scotland.
The loss made it four matches in a row without a win - Australia's worst record since 2000 - and Osieck is not about to sit back and take it from his underperforming players.
"That was a performance I definitely won't accept," he told au.fourfourtwo.com. "We made some basic mistakes that we should not be doing.
"I definitely will draw my conclusion again from that. We couldn't close them down in midfield - w en we won the ball, we gave it away too easily and then we had to run after them.
"We played into their hands."
But Osieck feels that the inclusion of some experienced players, such as Tim Cahill, Matt McKay, Matthew Spiranovic and Jade North, will bode well for the Socceroos when they meet Jordan in a World Cup qualifier next month.
"I think there are lot of guys that had not been here that definitely will help the team in the upcoming qualifiers," he added.
"I consider it a wake-up call and we have to improve a lot in order to be ready for the upcoming qualifiers.
"It's never good to lose but maybe it's come at the right time."
