Osieck: Australia will look to create scoring chances against France

Holger Osieck will take a slightly different approach into Australia's next international friendly.

The Socceroos meet France in Paris on October 12 (AEST) and the German is looking for a much-improved showing following the 6-0 debacle in Brazil last month.

Osieck says he will be urging his players to bring more to the table from an attacking sense and hopes the Socceroos can produce a game style where they can keep possession of the ball for longer periods.

"Two negative results in a row would not be too helpful but on the other hand France are a top team that plays its own type of football," Osieck told SBS from Switzerland.

"So we will have to set up a different strategy in Paris.

"We know they have some great players and it is my job to prepare the players so we can give them a very competitive game.

"We will try to play our usual game, why shouldn't we?

"We won't be playing a containing game, that's for sure, mainly because if we do that we won't have any chance anyway.

"You should always look to create scoring chances.

"What we have to do is be more aggressive in our defending and when we attack we have to be more accurate in our passing.

"If we improve in these aspects our game will be different to that seen in Brazil."
