O'Shea impressed by Sunderland market work

Sunderland defender John O'Shea is full of praise for manager Paolo di Canio's summer market work.

The Italian boss has drafted in nine new faces and saw his Black Cats make the final of the Barclays Asia Trophy in Hong Kong last week, losing 1-0 to Manchester City.

O'Shea said: "The quality of players the manager has brought in is pleasing.

"Emanuele Giaccherini has not been here long, but you can see from his first touch he's got that bit of class.

"His link-up play with the strikers looks good and if we can get him fully fit, and get Jozy Altidore banging in goals alongside Stephane Sessegnon, then it's going to be exciting."
