Oscar insists: Chelsea did not lack effort in Corinthians loss

Chelsea midfielder Oscar says he and his teammates did not lack effort in their 1-0 FIFA Club World Cup final loss to Corinthians on Sunday.

The European champions were unable to clinch the crown against the Copa Libertadores winners with Oscar making it clear that the Southwest Londoners were determined to taste success prior to the deciding fixture.

"I didn't think we lacked effort, this happens," said Oscar after Paolo Guerrero netted the only goal of the game with just over 20 minutes remaining in Yokohama.

"The whole of the Chelsea team need to learn how to play decisive games like this.

"Chelsea wanted this title so much, we have been training a lot in London for this competition. But defeat happens. Corinthians played well and deserved to win.

"It was a good game, we just didn't create as much as usual, Cassio made some great saves and Corinthians scored when they had the chance."
