Orlando's MLS expansion plans take a turn

Orlando's chances of becoming the next MLS franchise have taken a negative hit.

The Florida House of Representatives rejected a bill for a proposed soccer-specific stadium in Orlando as well as turning the down the notion of renovating the current Sun Life Stadium.

Orlando City SC are hoping to win the 20th MLS license and although this news has put a dampener on their ambitions, the club would continue their fight.

"We are bitterly disappointed that House Bill #7127 reached an impasse in the HOR today," the Orlando City posted on Twitter Friday night. "We will continue to work to bring MLS to Orlando."
