Orlando City striker Larin relieved as Canada progress to fourth round World Cup stage

Cyle Larin was reassured after Canada overcame an early hiccup to move through to the fourth round of CONCACAF qualifying for the 2018 World Cup.

The Canucks defeated Belize 3-0 in Toronto last week in the third round play-off first leg before the Central American minnows sprung a surprise with a 26th-minute goal from Deon McCaulay in the second leg in Belmopan on Tuesday.

However, Will Johnson's equaliser on the stroke of half-time eventually saw Canada through to the next phase on the road to Russia 2018 where they will now take on Mexico, Honduras and El Salvador in Group A.

Of the relieving win, Orlando City young gun Larin said: "They were difficult conditions. But you just have to go out there and get the job done.

"We created lots of chances," said Larin. "We played well and we got the point on the road to get us to the next round."

Canada's first fourth round fixture takes place at home against Honduras in November.
