Orlando City SC have announced that they have reached a new membership milestone.
The MLS expansion club have notched 11,000 season ticket sales ahead of the 2015 season which will be their debut in the USA and Canada's top flight.
President and club founder Phil Rawlins revealed the landmark achievement in a club statement on Monday.
"The rapid increase in sales shows the growing demand of our passionate fans as the home opener rapidly approaches," Phil Rawlins said in the statement.
"To be only a few thousand tickets away from our goal several weeks before the start of the season further validates why Orlando is the 'Soccer Capital of the South.'"
The Lions, who open their inaugural MLS campaign against fellow newcomers New York City FC at the Citrus Bowl on March 8, are targeting 14,000 season ticket holders in their first season before moving into their brand new home in the downtown neighbourhood of Parramore in 2016.
