Orlando City coach Heath thrilled to land 'talented' Shea from Stoke

Orlando City SC head coach Adrian Heath was over the moon after confirming the signing of Brek Shea on Friday.

The MLS expansion franchise landed the 24-year old winger from Premier League club Stoke City ahead of their inaugural season in the US and Canada's top flight and Heath felt it was a brilliant piece of business by his club.

"I can't speak enough about the talent and passion that Brek brings to the squad," said Heath on Orlando City's official website.

"Having had a chance to watch him train with us over the summer, I was impressed with the caliber of player he is and with his desire to win.

"I think those qualities fit well with our style of play, our team's philosophy and the other talented players on our squad. We have a lot work to do to prepare for the start of the season but we have a talented roster with which to start."

Former FC Dallas ace Shea joined Stoke for around $USD4million in January 2013 but failed to make a great impact at the Britannia Stadium, playing just five times, before being loaned to Birmingham City and Barnsley earlier this year.
