Incoming MLS club Orlando City this week completed the signings of a pair of talented Colombians.
Cristian Higuita and Carlos Rivas have arrived in Orlando from Deportivo Cali and both bring with them a massive amount of ability which has seen them represent their country internationally at U20 level.
21-year old midfielder Higuita, a Cali native, and 20-year old former Once Caldas forward Rivas have already been heavily involved in the Lions' first few days of pre-season training and big things are expected of the duo.
Lions head coach Adrian Heath was quizzed on Higuita and Rivas and the former Everton ace could only speak highly of the new recruits.
"Going along with a few of the other younger ones we've had, we've bought two quality players," Heath told reporters after training on Wednesday.
"We've been down to Colombia and watched them on numerous occasions. They are incredibly highly thought of.
"They have played for the youth (Under) 20s for a country that's ranked number three in the world.
"You only have to look at the quality of players Colombia have got in the last World Cup and this is the next generation of them.
"We are delighted.
"It's going to be a process (but) there's going to be time for them. It is going to take some time to learn the language, to settle in, but in terms of ability I have got no question whatsoever that these two are going to be huge pieces for us moving forward."
Orlando City will begin their inaugural MLS season against fellow expansion side New York City FC at the revamped Citrus Bowl in downtown Orlando on March 8.
