Reggina coach Nevio Orlandi has declared the Great Escape is on after their 1-0 victory over Atalanta.

Fabio Ceravolo scored the winner at the Stadio Azzurri d'Italia, although Reggina also hit the woodwork three times. It was Reggina's first Serie A success since the last time they faced the Orobici on November 30.

"We've been saying for a while that until it is mathematically impossible, we'll keep believing," said Orlandi.

"This is an important victory that gives new strength to our hopes. Finally we got the three points that are also crucial in terms of confidence.

"We need help from everybody to achieve our objective. The other results this weekend went in our favour too.

"Our chances of staying up have increased, but we have to fight it out each and every Sunday, taking it one game at a time."
