Ooijer targets Blackburn comeback

Andre Ooijer hopes to make his competitive comeback in Blackburn Rovers' Intertoto Cup tie with FK Vetra.

The Dutch defender has been sidelined since January after breaking his leg in a 3-0 win at Manchester City.

"It's great to be back after six months out," Ooijer told the club's official website.

"I played a half against Wrexham last week and then another 80 minutes against Bielefeld, so I'm still building up, but it's getting better every time I play and every time I train.

"I don't feel any pain in my leg anymore, so that's the most important thing.

"I really hope I'm ready for the Intertoto. My leg is ready, so we'll have to wait and see what happens.

"It's been frustrating because you just want to play. I came to Blackburn and after the start I had, I felt I was just getting up to my normal level when I broke my leg."
