USA defender Oguchi Onyewu has returned to AC Milan.
The unlucky defender suffered a serious injury as soon as he joined the Rossoneri in the summer of 2009 and never really made it on to the field.
The 29-year-old was loaned to Dutch side FC Twente for six months in January, but the club has opted not to take up their option of a permanent move.
"His contract included an option to buy, but after joint consultations, FC Twente and Onyewu decided not to exercise it," read a statement.
"Onyewu played 14 games for FC Twente."
