Japan midfielder Shinji Ono was sent off in his first start for VfL Bochum this Bundesliga season.
The 30-year old was sent packing when he received a second yellow card just past the hour-mark in Bochum's -1 draw with reigning German champions VfL Wolfsburg.
Bochum hit the lead in the 53rd minute through Vahid Hashemian but were unable to hold onto their lad with ten men and were forced into a draw when Wolfsburg star Edin Dzeko levelled with fifteen minutes remaining.
Ono's Japan teammate Makoto Hasebe was substituted during the second half for Wolfsburg.
