O'Neill wants Sunderland players to recharge batteries

Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill wants his players to refresh their batteries this week.

The Black Cats do not have a midweek game at senior level this week and O'Neill is glad of the chance to restore energy levels.

He told safc.com: "The players who have played a lot of games recently will need a little break and we'll get back to it.

"I'm hoping when we come up against [Arsenal] we'll be refreshed.

"We'll go away and try and re-energize ourselves as much as possible and be ready for the cup tie."
