O'Neill stunned to break century-old Sunderland record

Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill was shocked to learn he'd broken a century old record after victory over Norwich City.

The win extended O'Neill's run since he replaced Steve Bruce as manager to just two defeats in 11 games in all competitions.

Told that he had compiled the best start by a Sunderland manager in 100 years, O'Neill said: "I wouldn't be too worried about that. I think it's how you finish that would probably be more concerning for me.

"But I'm delighted with the team, obviously. Wow. Just delighted with them."
