Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill is confident Wayne Routledge is happier at Villa Park than he was with Tottenham.
"I don't think its been frustrating for him," O'Neill told the Sunday Mercury.
"He came here and the picture was very clear to him that he'd got a job to get into the side.
"The way we've shaped up since Wayne arrived here in January is that Ashley can play down either side and going a wee bit narrow on the opposite side suited us.
"But the opportunity is there for Wayne. He wasn't getting a look in anyway at Tottenham so as far as he's concerned its been a change of environment for him.
"He will play games for us and its how he does in those games that will eventually make my mind up and probably his own mind."
