Martin O'Neill is stepping back from the race for the Crystal Palace job.
The London Evening Standard says Palace have spoken to O'Neill, who has been out of work since he was sacked by Sunderland in March, but reports in Ireland today suggested he was not interested in the job due to concerns about the squad's strength.
Palace co-chairman Steve Parish is prepared to take time to make the right appointment and has told caretaker coach Keith Millen he will be in charge for the trip to West Brom on Saturday.
