Aston Villa boss Martin O'Neill is demanding Shaun Maloney buck up his ideas and commit himself to being successful at Villa Park.

The Scottish international, 24, has made just five Premier League starts since joining Villa in a £1million move in January from Celtic.

O'Neill said: "People sign contracts and unless they've been hard done by, they have to abide by these things."
