Middlesbrough boss Gareth Southgate insists midfielder Gary O'Neil won't be sold.

He told the Evening Gazette: "We've had no interest in Gary, he's said to me he feels more settled so at this moment in time I'm happy to got along with that and hope the situation resolves itself over the summer.

"Like with the players we want to bring in, you'd like those situations resolved in time for pre-season but that's not always possible.

"Gary's somebody that's contracted to us that we don't want to lose.

"He assures me it's not a problem and hopefully that's the case."
