One game at a time for Reading boss Adkins

Nigel Adkins says his bottom of the table side Reading are taking one game at a time as they battle against the drop. "We've got to concentrate on us, one game at a time, and give ourselves an opportunity to get as many points as we can," said the former Southampton manager.

"It's going to be really nervy towards the end but all we can do is effect what we can do - the next game is the important one, at Norwich.

"If we can keep building on what we've been doing then I'd like to think we can give ourselves an opportunity to win that game.

"We've got a lot to do, I'm well aware of that, but the way we've tried to approach it is one day at a time."

Hailing the Royals' positivity, he added: "We know where we are in the division but there's a smile on the players' faces and a determination.

"The attitude and mentality is good, if we can keep building on what we've been doing and build a bit of momentum - we got a good point in our last game - we're just trying to build on everything that's been happening.

"It's a very short space of time to have implemented all the ideas we've got - we're still on page one - but we're fighting to win games of football."
