Once Caldas boss Osorio turns down Chivas USA job

Former Chicago Fire and New York Red Bull coach Juan Carlos Osorio has turned down the chance to return to MLS.

The 48-year old Colombian tactician has decided to remain with homeland club Once Caldas after rejecting the vacant Chivas USA position.

"I had three very good offers from abroad and another from Colombia," Osorio told Colombia's Antena 2 radio. "But after discussing it with my family, I decided to let them pass and continue working to improve Once Caldas."

Osorio took the reins at Chicago midway through the 2007 season, taking the then-bottom-placed Fire to the play-offs before landing at New York, where he finished up in August 2009 after a string of poor results, although he did lead the Red Bulls to the 2008 MLS Cup final (losing 3-1 to Columbus Crew).
