Great Britain eventually eased to a 3-1 win over UAE, but only after the shock of seeing their opponents level until two late strikes sealed the victory.
GB dominated long periods of the game without ever being at their best but did take a 1-0 lead into the half-time interval courtesy of Ryan Giggs, although they really should have had a couple more.
Stuart Pearce`s team them paid for their wastefulness when totally against the run of play on the hour mark UAE equalised with a superbly worked goal ended with Elsa finishing clinically.
But on 73 minutes Scott Sinclair, who had only just been introduced as substitute, put GB back in front, and three minutes later Daniel Sturridge made the game safe with a delightful chip.
Team GB only need to avoid defeat to Uruguay in their final Group A match to progress to the last eight.
