West Bromwich Albion defender Jonas Olsson has urged fans to reserve judgement on striker Markus Rosenberg.

The Swede intends to stay at the Hawthorns this new season, despite a tough past 12 months.

Olsson told the Birmingham Mail: "When you see him playing, when he got to play five or six games at the end of the season consistently, then he did very well.

"The fans didn't really give him a fair chance in my opinion. Some did but most of them didn't.

"I think he showed good glimpses last season.

"His CV speaks for itself. He's played in the World Cup, he's played in the Euros. He's been performing well in one of the best leagues in the world, the Bundesliga, and scoring goals season-in, season-out.

"Now he has scored and everyone's saying he's beginning to show what a good player he is."
