Swansea City fullback Martin Olsson insists they can be pleased with their 0-0 draw at Southampton.

Olsson was in good spirits after Paul Clement's side got off the mark at the first attempt.

“We knew it was going to be tough," said the Swedish international.

“We had to dig deep and work hard. We may not have played our best today, but we showed character and team spirit to keep that clean sheet.

“It's a long season and it's a good start with a point and a clean sheet."
