Current DC United caretaker Ben Olsen is hoping he can get the job on a permanent basis. The former midfielder has been in the role since Curt Onalfo was sacked in August and is keen to go again next season.
"Would I like to coach this team next year? Yeah, I would," Olsen said on MLSsoccer.com's ExtraTime Radio.
"There's a lot of good coaches out there and I realize I've been on the job for six or seven months. So is [it] realistic [to want the job]? I don't know."
Olsen admitted that he was happy with the progress the team had made under him following the 1-0 away win over Toronto FC on the weekend.
"I think, in a lot of ways all year, but in particular these last two months, we've been doing a lot of good things," Olsen added. "We just haven't made the play that counts, and it was a matter of us getting that done. And I think we finally got that done in good fashion."
