Salomon Olembe is delighted to have won a one-year deal with Wigan Athletic.
"My agent came and spoke to me about the possibility to come here.
"I am happy to be here and I want to help the club look up and show that it is a good club.
"The particular thing about this club is that it is like a family. I see how the coach and the players live together and I think it is the kind of club I need to be at to play the football I like and the football the coach wants me to play."
Olembe was a team-mate of Wigan striker Antoine Sibierski at Nantes earlier in his career, and the Frenchman recommended the Lancashire side to him.
"I spoke with Antoine and he told me that there was a lot of positivity about this club," Olembe added.
"I respect his opinion and that is why I have done everything to be here."
