Oldham will request moving their home Bank Holiday fixtures for the new League One season against Rochdale and Walsall to reduce policing costs. The Latics want to put back the visit of derby rivals Rochdale by 24 hours to Tuesday, January 4 and move the Easter Monday game against Walsall back a day to Tuesday, April 26.
Chief executive Alan Hardy said: "We are looking at the possibility of moving both matches to reduce police charges which for Bank Holidays are double the usual sums.
"By moving both matches from Monday to Tuesday, it would also give the players an extra 24 hours to recover from Saturday games."
